Scary Walk 4 Autism 2012

Come join the Rodriguez family and all out friends for our 9th annual Scary Walk and Halloween party. There will be a party for the children with a bouncer/slide a bounce/obstacle course and popcorn machine. The scary walk will begin after dark.
There are always great raffle prizes as well as fun things donated by our Long Island businesses. The last four years we were able to have a Pumpkin Patch. All the children get to pick a pumpkin and decorate it with stickers.
We have great $1 and $5 raffles as well as awesome silent auction items. Included are an 8 x 10 autographed photo of Derek Jeter from the NY Yankees, an autographed 8 x 10 photo of Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts as well as an autographed 8 x 10 photo of NASCAR's Jimmie Johnson.
We will have a bake sale with cupcakes and cookies!
We will be having our Second Ever Chili contest! There will be three contestants. $5.00 for the flight and to cast your vote. Winner will get a prize!
Who knows what we can do this year! Hopefully we can reach our goal of $5000.00.

Every year we host the Scary Walk for Autism Awareness at our home. We hold a kiddie party during the day and are always looking for sponsors as well as volunteers. Last year the Local 638 Steamfitters donated a large bouncer with a slide for the kids to enjoy as well as a popcorn machine.
We also sold beautifully hand-decorated witch hats and brooms and held a raffle for all different items in order to help us raise over $700. That was dramatically more than the $200 we raised the first year. Our goal this upcoming year is to break the $5000 mark. In 2008 we raised over $2000.00. 2009 we were rained out. Who knows what we can do in 2010!
For the winter holidays, we sold hand decorated wreaths. These gorgeous creations could not be crafted fast enough! For just $25, wouldn't you pay to help a great cause?
Anytime is a good time to help support this cause, that is why we offer the Autism Awareness Ribbon Magnets, Justice 4 Autism.
T-shirts and baseball hats are available too. The t-shirts are white with royal blue lettering. Sizes are Adults Small, Large and Extra Large. The baseball hats are navy blue with white lettering.
A new child is diagnosed with autism every 20 minutes. For all the children and families stricken by this disorder, and all those who will be, the time to act is now. Your contribution will fund research studies that will help find a cure. With your support, we will transform a community of heartbreak into a community of hope.
